Who likes chicken keema/mince?

I honestly don’t even know how it tastes but everyone tells me it is better than my vegetarian food, believe it or not, that breaks my heart. I have a preference of vegan food as it is extremely healthy for me. I had turned vegetarian when I was in 6th grade. I never looked back. I turned vegan, even though I love dairy, 3 years back.

For the former I just mentally didn’t feel like eating meat or eggs. For the latter, it was affecting my health. Having said that I never preach or propagate that one should turn vegetarian or vegan; food is body dependent and needs to be consumed as per individual needs. So many women can’t digest protein well in the body (blame it on our lifestyle and in some cases our genetic make). But I shall give you all my tasty and secret keema recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg of minced chicken
  • 1 big onion (chopped)
  • 1 tomato (chopped)
  • 5 cloves of garlic & little ginger (finely diced)
  • 1 small potato
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 pods of cardamom
  • 1/2 cup of chopped coriander leaves.
  • 1 tablespoon each: turmeric, cumin, coriander powder.
  • Chili and salt to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • Little water

Process:

  • Add the oil to a deep pan.
  • Then add ginger, garlic onion and tomato to the pan. Stir a bit. Add the chopped potato.
  • Add the masala and salt to it. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
  • Add the the chicken to the masala. And little water. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the water is dry and chicken is tenderly cooked.
  • I’ve garnished it with coriander leaves and ginger.

Enjoy.
